Blog: The Life Of A Supreme Ruler
You’ll find me in the matinée, the dark of the matinée

First off, Bill Bailey was awesome. As I mentioned in my last blog, Michelle and I went to see him perform in Glasgow. It was his first performance of the tour, and a great night indeed. I’ll never be able to think of the Friends theme in the same way again! And his renditions of the Imperial March and God Save The Queen were really quite funky. Or should that be jazzy? Excellent stuff, anyway.
On Monday, I headed off to Amsterdam for a few days, getting back on Saturday. The photos are up, although I still have to add the photos I took on my phone of the Friday night in Sneek (I’d forgotten to take my proper camera out that night). It was a good week, I saw all the usual touristy sights, and met up with a couple of chaps I know over there. My only complaint would have been about the person who snored incredibly loudly (it sounded vaguely like a wild boar being tortured, or at least, what I imagine that would sound like) for three of the four nights I was in the hostel. I didn’t get much sleep.
Since then, well, it’s been a busy few days. I had a practical for Databases due in last night, so was busy finishing that off the past couple of days. Another practical is due on Friday, this time for Machines and Computation. In addition, we have the Distinguished Lecture series on Thursday, which we have to write a report on in the near future. A third practical is due on Monday (conveniently enough, that’s Raisin Monday), and a fourth on Tuesday! Lots to be doing, that’s for sure. There’s also comedy tomorrow night which I was planning on attending (and, indeed, working on), and Rocksoc on Thursday. I could do with a few extra hours in the day. Perhaps double the length of the week and have each other day a day off?
Anyway, I shall go and watch Heroes, I think. And then work on one of these practicals, perhaps.
Quite coincidentally, my English teacher told me he had been to see Bill Bailey the other day.
Wasn’t in Glasgow though, that’d be quite a drive from Derby.
Still, he said he was awesome. 😀 Maybe I should buy a DVD of him some day.

You should, for he is awesometastic. One of the few people who can make me laugh out loud when I’m sitting in my own room alone watching him. 😛

Surely the only complaint you’d have about the trip would be that you didn’t get to see me!

Ah, yes. That too, of course.
