Blog: The Life Of A Supreme Ruler
C’est decembre!

Oh, how time flies! All of a sudden, it’s December, and a very hectic week indeed is upon me. I have three practicals due in in the next 5 days, two of which still need finishing, and then another one, plus an essay, due next week. Not only that, but the end of this week is going to be incredibly busy in terms of events – rigging for the Christmas ball all Thursday and Saturday, the Dark Room techno night on Thursday (whether I go to that will depend on how tired I am!), Karl Kennedy rigging and show on Friday, for which I’m the lighting director, and then the Christmas ball itself on Saturday night. Then the Union staff party on the Sunday! Oh, and group presentations and demonstrations on the Friday afternoon for the software team project. I’m not quite sure where I’ll get all the hours, to be honest…
This is probably going to be the last week of proper lectures, next week there may be some revision tutorials instead. At the end of next week, there’s the Christmas bop on Friday, which is basically obligatory to attend. Saturday will be used to recover from that, if need be, and then Sunday I intend to head down to North Wales for the Christmas period. It’ll be nice to get away for a bit! I’ll be at Grandad’s for Christmas, and then shall head down to mid-Wales to see Mum over New Year. Then, it’ll be back up to St Andrews at some point before the 14th of January, as that’s when I have my first exam! The exam timetable has been shuffled around a bit since the provisional timetable was published. The original provisional timetable was quite good from the point of view of maximising post-exam free time, but not quite so good from the point of view of actually taking the exams! The finalised timetable is better there – there’s at least a day between each exam, except between Machines and Computation and Databases. Databases shouldn’t be too bad, though, I hope! My last exam is on the 21st, and then I have a couple of weeks free until the 11th of February, when semester two starts. Hopefully, if we can find a suitably inexpensive flight, myself and Grandad shall be heading out to see Dad in Brazil then!
So, as you can see, I have a pretty busy two months ahead of me. If you don’t see too much of me online (eg, on tt-forums), then that’s why!
