Sick And Vicious

Oh, yes. Yes indeed.

First to guess what this means gets a smartie.

A robotic wife…

I saw the new movie of The Stepford Wives last night… it was very funny, and generally a good little film to watch, and, in principle, the idea’s not too bad either. πŸ˜‰ It might get a bit boring though, surely? Oh well, I’ve got a yearly film card at my local cinema so I don’t have to pay to get in for, well, a year… I’ll likely go and see I,Robot soon, and whatever else looks interesting.

In other news, I might or might not be going on university visits next week. Depends on whether I can be bothered to get around to organising it, plus it’d mean missing school, which in some ways might be nice, but it really just means having loads of stuff to catch up on later… oh well, there’s always the October holidays coming up!

“You may NOT link to this site”

A few weeks ago, I noticed on Grumpy Gamer an entry with some odd “linking policies” for sites – even sites like the official Olympics site: did you know that you have to get in touch with them before you are allowed to link to their site? Today, colde’s blog pointed me in the direction of dontlink.com, a site listing a number of corporate sites which don’t want you to link to them, which seems quite bizarre.

Weird.

Remember, remember the 5th of, um, September…

… for that was the day when I first played the Locomotion demo. And so far, I think it’s quite interesting. The new construction techniques will take some getting used to, and there are some other things that are a bit different from TTD which are perhaps slightly confusing, or even bizarre (plopping a train from the middle of nowhere onto the track? Oh well, at least my trains won’t get lost trying to go to depots!). Have you played the demo? If so, what do you think? Post your comments here or on the forum!

Hmm, I suppose I’d better get out of bed, I’ve a computer to go and fix for someone soon…

Locomotion demo is out!

A FilePlanet version of the Locomotion demo was released this morning! I’m still awaiting my own copy of the demo, which I should get this weekend – the FilePlanet one is branded for them and must be downloaded via their annoying download system. If you’re interested, check out the tt-forums Locomotion forum.

By the way, does anyone actually want me to write stuff about my offline life here?

Ogg Vorbisifcation

I have recently been seeking out higher-quality Ogg Vorbis versions of many of the tracks in my Winamp playlist, to replace various MP3 tracks, some of which sounded pretty poor (likely due to poor source material – eg, the radio – you can’t always tell where tracks from P2P software have come from). This was made somewhat easier by allofmp3.com, a Russian site where you pay $10/GB to download music in whatever quality you want, whatever format you want, and so on. You can pay by PayPal (well, most of the time… from time-to-time, PayPal decides to close their account due to that annoying thing called the RIAA), so you don’t have to give your credit card details away, and it really is quite good.

Right, advertising over then. Now, I’ve had word back from the company representing Atari with all those Locomotion goodies, and I should be getting them this weekend! I’ll keep you posted. πŸ™‚

Woof!

Yay, it’s Thursday today. That means that it’s Friday tomorrow, and then it’s the weekend! πŸ™‚ I have a few plans for things I’m going to do for my sites then, although whether I’ll get around to doing them is another thing…

I came across another funny Flash animation earlier (warning: contains strong language), from gprime.net, a site with all sorts of interesting and bizarre stuff on it – check it out. πŸ˜‰

Yawn…

Hmm, I’m in school right now, and kind of bored. Although not as bored as I was first period… *that* was boring. Anyway, I just registered transporttycoon.co.uk though, which recently expired “properly”… it’s a disease, I tell you! Oh, www.transporttycoon.net is indeed pointing to my site now, so have fun with that.

Hmm, teacher’s lurking, I best go.
