April Fools!

Well, today is April Fools Day, and here’s a roundup of a few April Fools that I’ve noticed:

  • The Transport Tycoon Forums: a variety of words mysteriously changed… “the” to “teh”, “with” to “whit”, “TTDPatch” to “OpenTTD”, and others… most people found it quite funny, some found it annoying, some both. ๐Ÿ˜‰
  • Also on tt-forums… Darkvater announces that he’s abandoning OpenTTD for Windows – some think this is possibly true, who knows? Guess we’ll see…
  • TTDPatch: small easter egg in TTDPatch 2.0.1 alpha 48
  • GMail are increasing account sizes to 2GB, maybe more.. mine’s currently at 1561MB (you can see them grow!)
  • Age of Empires III Heaven put a video up claiming to be footage from a recent show about the game… I admit this one had me, until I started reading the forum, thought, “hmm, hang on a minute!”, played the bit of video that had already downloaded and discovered it was Magical Trevor!
  • Wikipedia have apparently been bought by Encyclopaedia Brittanica… the user-edited page describing the event soon descended into quite estoric madness however!
  • The Register reports that Steve Jobs has joined IKEA

That’s a few, anyway… see if you can find any more while you still can. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Steam had one about a Counter-Strike update with funny things to make counter-strike more realistic!

  3. Google have an excellent sense of humour. As do you!! Ripping the piss out of ThorRune though?? Haha, classic stuff. Well done – it wasn’t a school day so I couldn’t really do much for it. Sigh, there’s always next year…

  4. Ps. Google’s inbox size increase isn’t a joke! It rocks…

  5. I know the inbox thing isn’t a joke, it’s still going up, slowly but surely! And as for the tt-forums joke, well, I enjoyed it. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Some people didn’t seem to see the funny side (I don’t know if ThorRune even noticed, can’t remember what he said about it, if anything…)
