… the Bad Seal web site. Not a bad site at all. [Heh… "Bad" Seal, "bad" site, get it? I’ll go back to sleep now, shall I? ] Click here to go to the Awards page.

OSPlus Disk Imager 1.4 coming soon plus other updates

Filed under:
  • Site News
— orudge @ 12:00 am

I made a BIG error in version 1.3 of the Disk Imager that rendered half of it practically useless. I have fixed this problem and added several new features. I’ll release version 1.4 very soon. See the SourceForge site for more information. Also, I’ve uploaded a new screenshot to DesktopShots.

New screenshots at DesktopShots plus other little updates

Filed under:

I have added two new screenshots to DesktopShots. Please keep them coming! I have also fixed the poll so that voting/viewing the results on certain pages (eg, on a DesktopShots gallery or the TT FAQ) works properly. There have also been some (mainly internal) updates to the Ultimate Transport Tycoon Game Repository.

Melissa-related updates plus new screenshot at DesktopShots

Filed under:
  • Site News
— orudge @ 08/09/2001 1:00 am

The new Melissa Joan Hart forum is doing very well! I have received another e-mail from Mel and have updated the Melissa section of the Information/Feedback page. I’ve also added a new screenshot to DesktopShots, and updated the TT Download page a bit. I also improved the 404 (page not found) page a bit too. Finally, the site has had over 31,000 hits! A week ago we hit 30,000!

Various Updates

Filed under:
  • Site News
— orudge @ 01/09/2001 12:00 am

Yesterday I returned from a very good trip to Edinburgh. Before I left, I had updated various things on this site but not mentioned them here, so I’ll do that now. First of all, I launched a new poll about a week ago. This is asking if you use the excellent WinAmp media player. You can view the results of the previous poll about Office XP here. I’ve also launched a new Melissa Joan Hart forum, which has proved popular. If you are a Melissa fan, then check it out!

This month, I’ve decided to award the August 2001 award to Humorix – an excellent site with fake news (most of the time!) and jokes about Linux, Microsoft, hacking, the DMCA and various other things. The Awards section is now just over a year old! Getting near the end, I’ve uploaded two new screenshots to DesktopShots. Finally, this site has nearly had 30,000 hits!

I’ve added two new screenshots to DesktopShots (one of which I particularly like!). I’ve also added a new Melissa Joan Hart section to the Links page. At some point in the future, I may create a Melissa Joan Hart sub-site!

Drop down menus fix and SGM 2.0 update

Filed under:
  • Site News
— orudge @ 18/08/2001 1:00 am

I have received a couple of reports that the drop-down menus do not display correctly on some versions of Netscape 6 (they work fine on my Mozilla 0.9), so I have disabled them for NS6/Mozilla. Also, you can now customise the menus, so you can either have the menus on, or just the "bar", or turn the whole lot off completely. Go to the Customise page for more information. Also, it turns out that I missed an important file from Saved Game Manager 2.0 and so I have uploaded a fixed version. I have also uploaded a smaller version that doesn’t include the VB5 runtime files, which many people have. Click here to go to the Saved Game Manager page. I’ve also discovered that I uploaded binaries to Jon Heather’s modified version of Bad Seal, but forgot to update the site. Click here to download them.

Filed under:
  • Site News
— orudge @ 16/08/2001 12:00 am

Exactly one year ago today, I released the first version of a fairly small and simple program named Transport Tycoon Saved Game Manager. One year on, I am releasing version 2.0, which is MUCH better than any existing version. There are many many new and improved features, and the Manager has been totally rewritten. This is highly recommended if you play TT! Click here for more information!

I’ve uploaded a collection of small programs called WinAmp Control Centre that you can use to control WinAmp in a variety of scenarios. Check it out! I have also fixed the Title Bar Clock download. The file had become corrupted on the server.

DesktopShots is now open!

Filed under:
  • Site News
— orudge @ 04/08/2001 12:00 am

It turns out that the server I planned to put the screenshots on was not down, it’s just it changed IP address and the DNS information hadn’t been updated, so I used the alternative domain, which worked. Anyway, DesktopShots is now open! Click here to go there!

DesktopShots delayed

Filed under:
  • Site News
— orudge @ 03/08/2001 12:00 am

DesktopShots may not be ready tomorrow due to some (rather annoying) hosting problems (I have 25mb of screenshots to place somewhere, and the place I planned to put them is down). With luck, I should get DesktopShots up by tomorrow night. Sorry about this.

Jeepers! August already! Anyway, where was I… ah yes… the July award goes to… Melissa Joan Hart Central. Click here for more information and to see previous site awards. On another note, Transport Tycoon Saved Game Manager 2.0 should soon be uploaded. This is much better than earlier versions – watch this space.

Screenshot of GEMP3 2.2 uploaded to GEM Workshop

Filed under:
  • Site News
— orudge @ 29/07/2001 12:00 am

Sorry for the long delay in update time, but I’ve been doing other things and never really got round to updating the site. Anyway, I’ve uploaded a screenshot of the forthcoming GEMP3 2.2 to the GEM Workshop. Click here to see it. GEMP3 2.2 will have a full screen visualisation which will run in 256 colours and generally will be very good.

I’ve also updated the Information/Feedback page, with various small updates, information on submitting TT saved games/scenarios, as well as something about the guestbook message from Melissa Joan Hart. As always, if you have any comments on this site, or just want to say hello, then please e-mail me, sign the guestbook, post a message in the forums, or do all of the above! Thanks!

It’s my birthday!

Filed under:
  • Site News
— orudge @ 09/07/2001 1:00 am

It’s my birthday today! This time last year I was "down south" on holiday, but this year I’m not. Anyway, as always, if you have any comments or queries on the site, please do e-mail me! On a slightly different note, I’m doing very well in my latest TT game! I last saved it on 9th July 2042 (that was actually an accident – I pressed the Save button and it was about the 7th, so I waited until it was the 9th!), and at this time I have £324 million. In my first game I played, I only had £278 million at this time. As for my second and third games, I don’t know, as I lost them.
